Joy Bailey taught high school Spanish for six years in Kalamazoo, MI and occasionally teaches courses on race and racism in education at Western Michigan University. Currently Joy is a core organizer and trainer for Crossroads Antiracism Training and Organizing. She also serves on Crossroads’ board. Joy has been doing local anti-racism organizing in Kalamazoo Public Schools (KPS) for over ten years and has participated in the Cultural Connections program with other KPS educators, helping staff and students understand globalization and its effects on the US Midwest and West Africa.
